Binh Thuan: 48,000 pandemic-affected workers get support

BTO- As of November 16, functional agencies in Binh Thuan have approved financial support for over 48,000 people who have become unemployed due to the Covid-19 pandemic under the Government’s Resolution No.68.

Particularly, employees working under employment contracts but temporary stopped working due to the Covid-19 pandemic; employees took unpaid leave; employees who have suspended labor contracts but are not eligible to enjoy unemployment allowance; freelance workers, people who work in culture-arts sectors and tour guides… got one-time support with a total fund of nearly VND 88 billion.  

At the same time, functional bodies have approved a relief package worth nearly VND 6 billion to support 1,980 business households and 327 enterprises with a total of 7,451 workers via preferential loans to resume production. The provincial authorities have also provided financial support for 6,147 people under medical quarantine and gave further support to 954 children who were infected with the coronavirus.
