Phan Thiet Youths partake in voluntary activities for the community

BTO – A wide range of meaningful and practical activities, with the theme of “Phan Thiet Youths take initiatives and volunteer for the community”, have been implemented from early June in Phan Thiet city. The event was launched by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of Phan Thiet city, in response to the 2020 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan An – Secretary of the HCYU of Phan Thiet, the 2020 Summer Youth Volunteer program has lure the participation of a great number of Youth union members, impressing on the locals. This year’s campaign started from May 31st to August 15th, with its peak month in July. The campaign will focus on fulfilling a number of goals such as: building new-style rural areas, building civilized urban, protecting the environment, coping with the climate changes, participating in road safety and order, ensuring social welfare, looking after the Children, propagandizing national sovereignty over seas and islands; caring for policy-favored families and underprivileged persons and the lonely elderly.

Under the sweltering heat, those “blue shirt” volunteers were not afraid of doing sweat-labor works such as repairing old toys for the kids, planting green trees, and collecting plastic waste for the community.

Presently, many voluntary activities have simultaneously been deployed at all wards. The Phan Thiet HCYU also sets up 5 voluntary groups assisting the upcoming National Graduation Examination.

In the meantime, they targets at completing the goals of organizing Children’s Camp and Action Month for Children; building 2 spots which regularly cleans up the beaches; planting at least new 1,000 tree; providing for 300 residents with free-of-charge health check-ups and medicine delivery; observing 2 free swimming classes for disadvantaged children; building at least 1 new road on the criteria “Bright-Green-Clean-Civilized –Safe”, etc.
