Binh Thuan and Enterprize Energy agree to support fishermen on fish-catching in off-shore wind power projects’ waters

BTO- In the framework of Cooperation- Investment Forum 2022 organized in the United Kingdom (UK), the provincial People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province and renewable developer Enterprize Energy Group (EE Group) on June 29 signed a cooperation agreement to support fishermen on fishing within the waters in Ke Ga, where offshore wind power projects are implemented

The signing ceremony witnessed the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Minh (vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee) and EE Group Chairman Ian Hatton. According the agreement, EE Group is expected to give assistance to Binh Thuan’s authorities in training local fishermen how to catch fishes in the area of off-shore wind power projects. The company will provide fishermen support in fishing activities in the fishing areas affected by the implementation of off-shore wind farms, as well as update international regulations on maritime activities. Reportedly, the 3.4-GW Thang Long Wind in Ke Ga Cape (Ham Thuan Nam district), invested by EE Group with the total invest capital of USD 11.9 billion, has been one of the first major offshore wind power projects in Vietnam.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Mr. Ian Hatton conformed that EE Group and its partners in Thang Long Wind and a 2-megawatts Thang Long Wind 2 project (green hydrogen and ammonia production plant, with a combined investment of over USD 5 billion would be ready to implement their projects towards taking Vietnam into the group of leading Asian countries in renewable energy development and making a breakthrough for Vietnam’s economy in the future.
